urgent quick paint question about spraying

just adding the final coat of laquer to my front bumper (after wrecking it on a brick wall), sanded down filled primed and coloured ready for the laquer, just tried spraying it on and the bloody stuff is running could kill myself as i was in a hurry) whats the best way to get rid of the run, without sanding the whole lot down again, lacquer is still wet so immediate advice would be appreciated.

I think it'd be a 'botch job' if you don't sand it down again... but if you must then i guess there's only white spirit (i think thinners would melt the plastic). The paint would have to be dry though or it'll lift that too...

There isn't. Sorry to say its a couple if hours worth of fine wet and dry and a lot of elbow grease, if you want to do a half decent job.

dammit feared as much, already spent all weekend wet n drying filling etc had it spot on then the final coat of clear grrrr

get some 1500 and 2000 grade wet and dry. Single pack laqcuer (rattle can) is very soft and will rub down fairly easily, you'll be surprised how easy runs are to remove. I recomend using a small sanding block and finishing any radius's by hand, start with the 2000 grade wet and see how you get on, only if you need more cut step down a grade.

If the laquer has just been applied leave it a couple of days before rubbing it back. then re-laquer.
