Yes - book an MOT with a garage the otherside of where you are taking the car to.....

Make sure that if it was MOTed and taxed that it is insured.

I am looking into transportation for it, I need to diagnose this chaffing sound ideally, cos if mkaor surgery needed, parts it is

I would advise against driving the car unless pre-booked for an MOT, otherwise tow it by means of dolly or trailer. Not something you should really be mentioning on here really
