other bhp per ton comparisons
Ford Focus ST170 170bhp- (143 per ton)
Golf GTI 200 - (150 per ton)
Celica GT4 195- (157 per ton)
Honda Accord Type-R 210bhp - (163 per ton)
Ford Sierra RS Cosworth 205bhp - (169 per ton)
Renaultsport Clio V6 255bhp- (175per ton)

any idea on the subaru wrx ?

all interesting stuff this as it explains why my zs goes pretty well when its bhp per ton figures are not far off a 260bhp subaru.

Big factors with the ZS180 is the torque and low gearing, I can hit 60 in 2nd in the ZS but I have to slip into 3rd to do that in my T16 maestro.

This is because although I have the best part of 200 bhp I am using the Maestro 2.0i PG1 gearbox which has the lowest ratios of any PG1, I was going to build a box with custom ratios but some scum bag nicked the 2 doner boxes and the torsen diff that I had set aside.

Firstly, 0.7s in a 0-60 sprint is quite a bit. As has already been mentioned, there's a lot more to it than just power, and even power to weight. Gearing makes a big difference - great example is the TF 160 (6.9s) and ZR160 (7.4s), which both have the same engine and similar weight, but different final drive ratios and different size tyres.

I bought a new Focus ST-3 back in 2006, the acceleration & roll on performance is very similar.

I was thinking more of the mondeo st220, Ive had a play against the focus st225 and it was quick but well over budget.

2005~2006 zs180 sub 2k with low miles

2006 focus st225 £5.5k + with 90k miles +
