I know what you mean, yesterday i had to drive us home after crashing at some friends for the night and again to take Anna to the D'rs.. the number of people that were tootling along on flat bits of raod at barely 15mph was quite surprising... as it was fresh snow, you could actually have quite a good bit of grip - compaired to today where it is now all ice 
Had a long chat with rally_matt earlier as we think the coolant leak is external (found crystalline deposits on the outside of the waterpump) and he has been having a hoot in the silverstone area with a his R25 with rally gravel tyres on 4" of snow
