insurance help needed

Can anyone advice on any insurance companies for my newphew . Now he is only 17 and passed his test last week he already has a car a corsa 1.2sxi 2002 model which he got ready for when he passes his test . Trying to insure it is a nightmere he has been on all the price comparison sites and its just silly quotes he is getting 3 grand plus and that's with a blackbox fitted . He simply cant afford to pay that sort of money out he is so fed up he cant drive after just passing his test anyone know of any decent companies he could try .

Cant remember the grandsons Ins Co, I'll ask him and let you know, he started with a 1.2 R reg Clio, £1200 odd with a box.

Now got a 1.4 Clio 51 reg, without a box £1400.

Tesco box, or Admiral and put dad or someone as a named driver.

Also have a look at this

Good luck.

Snap Dan!!! was waiting for his ins co.

I used Keith Michaels plc when I was younger: http://www.keithmichaels.co.uk

I wouldn't bother with comparison websites, go find a specialist broker

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh, in my day...My first car was a Ford Escort Rs1800. Bought it for £650, went to my local insurance broker and they insured me at 19 3rd party f&t for £125. No garage, no alarm. They gave me £50 excess I remember.

Back in 1985.............feel sorry for youngsters these days, but as they prove to be a bad risk what do you expect.

Guess its down to location then..

Iv payed around the £1000 on mine each year until i got the jetta... That was £500 and again the exeo and zt-t come in around the same price or less.

Iv just done a quote on a new MG6, 4 years ncb 21 year old and its £325!!

Keep looking round and you will get good somewhere.

I would strongly recommend you try Direct Line, two of daughters use them and no-one else came close. Remember they are not on any comparison sites. My eldest has been with them since 17 years old and got really cheap insurance every year. I don't think she has paid more than £600 fully comp.

I have since moved to them for the Vectra Elite where it is a basic £167, £234 with all the add-ons (NCB protection, legal cover& hire car) and the MGF SE is £152 but with the add-ons £184.

My girls both run brand new cars, Vauxhall Adam and the new Seat Ibiza, 25 and 21 years old, both pay no more than £400 fully comp.
