axle stands

Hi wheres the best place to position axle stands. Its a 180 hatch if that makes any difference.

Either the jacking points, or the chassis rails just behind the front bulkhead.

My jack just slipped about 2 inches when i was changing a wheel, and I can't rotate the arm to remove it. So now I'm off to get a trolley jack and sort it out. Where can I jack a MK1 180 if the jacking point is already taken on one side at the front? Some say that the front jacking point on the 180 is a bit dodgy ...
