is it just me or is there no coolant in the tank??? still a tidy looking motor there for ya and you know some of it's history with it's previous owner being on here

true, im at the looking phase atm, i did want a facelift, but the money for them right now is insane!

so might go for a mk1, trophy blue i think, unless they did black?

Can get a decent looking one for like under 2k these days, just found one i want to look at with like 115k, which is a bit of an off put, but its had new cambelts, its got 18's and recaro interior, for like £1600,

and as far as i know the KV6 is pretty bullet proof anyway?

The KV6 is a strong reliable engine with the only real downsides being the plenum and VIS systems, but are repairable etc.

£1600 is a good price if it has history and definately had its belts done. There are not many cars out there in this bracket for that money.

Take someone along that knows the cars before buying. If you have a budget then yes go for a mk1. They did do a black one, not sure what the official colour spec was, anthracite possibly.
