unbolt the backbox see what it sounds like, if i ever get the correct backbox for my mk2 then il have a spare scorpion backbox for a mk1

I dread to think how loud that would be lol! Would the cost of welding a straight pipe not be better invested in an aftermarket box?

This is the spare one I have. Just noticed it has a different tip to the current one on the car.

Is this just a standard box with a stainless tip?

yeah, problem you have with trying to just put a straight pipe through is the tailpipe is offset pre and post bckbox if you look at it there

well you could make it an "active exhaust2 with a removable bung, but tbh youd probably end up loosing power
