Outer temp sensor / probe

Outer temperature sensor needed for a 180, mine’s reading 105c and the AC system doesn’t like it. The sensor is marked Diavia - anyone have a working spare or know of a suitable alternative? Wondering if a Rover 75 sensor would work as I have a donor outside but it’s snow bound until spring.

Hopefully

Thanks for the reply. The Ebay item is the one I’ve got on my snowbound donor, we’re due for some milder weather next weekend and I might be able to get to the sensor. I'll then try connecting it and see what temperature I get on the display, won't cost anything to try.

I believe it’s basically a thermistor and if anyone knew the type/value perhaps I could buy a universal one from an electronics outlet.

DMGRS are one of my preferred suppliers of parts, got a set of Rover 75 upper suspension arms and lots of other bits from them.

Regards

Good luck.

When I first got my ZS I was reading on here that the horn could fail. So I bought one off a member on here. Had it 10 years and kept on coming across it when I was looking through my car stuff. Last year it failed its MOT on horn not working, so dug the spare out, went to fit it and it had a different connector????

Had to buy a generic one of a car factors and wired it up to that.

Nothing is ever easy!!

Hope your one is an easy swap and it works.

Thanks, it'll be a while before I get access to the donor Rover 75 (the snow is really hard packed) but will post the result whichever way it goes.

Not 100% sure but think this ZS180 has two horns, one of which is bridged with aftermarket connectors so probably not original.

Diavia are a specialist air con manufacturer. It might be worth trying to contact them to see if they can supply or offer an alternative.

Early ZS had a really good pair of horns, one low tone and one high tone, but on later cars they only fitted one, normally the higher tone. I was so embarrassed by the squeak it gave out that I used to avoid using it! Eventually I fitted a pair from an early car.

Thanks, sorry for later reply. I found a Diavia probe, looked identical but it's in Spain, no answer to my email, so have asked a friendly native Spanish speaker to give them a call - he hasn't got back to me yet. In a day or two the snow/ice will have melted around my 75 donor and I'll be able to get at the outer temp sensor and give that a try.

I was wrong about twin horns there's only one with non-original wiring. Your horn description sounds a bit like my SD1 - twin horns but a pathetic squeak from a large car.
