exhaust fitting.

just about to buy my cat back but whats a good price fro fitting. janspeed want £80 which for 4 bolts and 15 mins work i think is a bit excessive, they are providing the exhaust anyway.

Not sure how much is a decent price mate but i wouldnt say it was a 15 minute job all depends how easy the nuts come off, mine was a right cow!

At the time of being under the car with skint knuckles and seized nuts i would have payed to get it done but i dont think i would have paid £80!!

That does seem a bit steep to me. Have you tried kwick fit or even your local garage im sure it wont be as much as £80

i would expect to pay a hours labour but that shouldnt be £80 especially as im paying £300 for the exhaust in the first place. they must be making about £265 proffit on that. from what i have heard an exhaust atchually costs peanuts to make in mass production

Definately more than 15 minutes, mine was a right cow as the rear joint was seized and I had to saw through the pipe to remove the back box. Mine took longer as I had to cut the bumper aperture for the other heatshield and drill the chassis rail for the nearside hanger.

I have been quoted £40 by the local Kwik-Fit for my decat, all of my fixings are seized even after soaking in duckoil, it needs oxy-acetylene on the nuts.
