not true as space savers have less tyre on the road to put the power down! its been proven that cars good slightly better with max amonut of tyre on the road

would be better in snow though, cuts down to the hard stuff better.

Something I discoved with my Defender when I first took it on mud - standard Defenders were running rings round "the Beast" and it's big floaty 2 foot wide tyres lol

an easy way to improve acceleration a little is to fit 40 profile tyres next time you need new rubber .Its good for 3 tenths of a second improvement over a standing 1/4 mile sprint compared to the standard 45 profile tyres.

I'd think a smaller overall diameter would give slightly better acceleration, whilst larger diameter would increase your max top speed slightly.
