My track cars had the doors gutted leaving the external skins, however my door bars were made to kiss the inner skin of the door. Gave you more protection and more room to get in and out. The old Brands ZS's ran with half cages. Nothing wrong with them as they stop the roof caving in totally leaving you some protection even if the A pillars fold a bit.

Don't think you need abs for mot, I'll let you know as next week I'm getting my race car road worthy and it has it's mot, so I'll
Let you know what it's failed on!

mine passed mot stripped to death with full roll cage, it had no airbags, no rear wiper, 6 point harness and lightweight bucket seat, no heater, 4 well worn 888's, plastic windows that didn't open, de cat, etc....iirc it didn't even have windscreen washers fitted.

that was a few years back...... but it probably depends how good a mood the inspector is in more than anything.

Your not wrong and you know me too well as I need to loose some timber.

Got the 1/2 cage in (Not fixed):

All the insulation chiseled out and most of the gunk out of the back. Using terps and old rags works a treat, gets the last bits off really well:

Cuppa with Bobby after he helped getting the cage in. Cheers mate!

if you can weld it in, also be good to add a weld on the bottom part of the cage to the sides of the chassis and not just the floor as that part will have more flex. Its looking good, great work on cleaning the floor up!
