Pickup can hold 5 and its a 3 foot lift onto the bed. Think ross van would be a good option :-) but say worst case can help

Andy Crane Transport is a non-starter as their prices go up due to the load being out of their region. Would be cheaper to run a small van there and back. Also it would need to palletised ready and drained of all oil.

I'd like it drained but I don't need to to be on a pallet

Would a tailgate fit inside an Astra van too or will I need to take the trailer?

Reckon that's best bet and also for any dribbles that may come out the box an engine en route instead of landing inside your van

Sounds like everything is falling into place. Got to say I'm impressed with the amount of goodwill and community spirit on here.

the van has a load liner in the back anyway, so dribbles wouldn't be a problem. But as you say getting it on the trailer will be far easier than trying to get it in and out of the van.

You should have seen me trying to get a 2 litre turbo out of the back of the Defender with a fork lift truck haha, I nearly picked the whole thing up!
