help needed please I don't know if my rad fan is working I took the electrical connector off and put a tester to it and it doesn't seem to have power going to it I wired fan straight to battery just to see and fan works should there be power to it all the times , hope this makes sense

If yours has gone mate I've got a radiator and twin fan assembley in the shed all working fine before removal from my old 180.

If you remove the connection to the temp sensor the fan should start.

Yeah, think I have got the fans spare too.

Reason I ask is because the 180 uses the Siemens management system, the ecu puts out a pwm signal to the fan controllers mounted on the front panel, which control the fans.

Obviously the cts is still the sensor that gives the ecu the temp signal.

Mems is more basic and simply runs a relay pack.

All is well then, if the ecu loses the signal from the cts it trips the fans to protect the engine, when you say they don't run, how long did you leave it idling.

The best way to test the fan for real world operation is to go for a drive to get the engine up to temp, then leave it idling for about 20 minutes. Make sure the air con is off.

If you have an OBD2 reader the fan should come on at 103' and speed up at 110', it should go off at 98'.
