Power run results :(

Well today I went and had a power run done on my car, unfortunately it didn't go to well the car is down on power and I have been advised not to drive it at full throttle due to the risk of ending its life

The car is running dangerously lean

The question is, can I just fit a fuel pressure regulator and crank it up??

any help/opinions are gratefully received

The fuelling is controlled by the ECU and is based on perimeters such as air inlet temperature and the lambda sensors.

I would check the OBD data to make sure they are all ok.

What if any mods have you done to the engine?

thats a nice linear graph and decent power, what mods have you got?

they all run a little bit lean up the top end, if its very lean id found out why and fix it.

The guy who rolled it said it was due to intake..so my induction i asked them to map it to correct it but they couldnt access the ecu so said that an aftermarket ecu is neccessary, Unless i can find a specialist...i have just fitted a decat so i imagine that the lambda readings are well out, but i was under the impression that this would make it run rich?? Theres no engine light on and nothing comes up when on diagnostic but the decat has only been on for roughly 300miles so i imagine the mil will light up soon

Mods are enclosed viper pipercross situated in the arch lining with custom stainless piping upto the tb, janspeed decat, cat back with 4" tailpipe..and then other little bits like magnecor leads etc...so nothing really major

I wouldn't be too concerned tbh.

Aftermarket management for the mods you have is madness imo.

Thats what i thought tbh and theres no way that i would take that route, they did say that iam on the verge or unreliability though? Although iv never had an issue...

So can i just fit a fuel regulator and turn the fuelling up or will this just make it over fuel when cruising?

are you sure that 14:1 is dangerously weak?

The ECU does not adapt that much to mods, it would need a remap to rich it up if you wanted to.

It does not need an aftermarket ecu.

cars can run a little leaner on idle and light throttle anyway.

Doesn't the lambda only adjust on closed loop?
So it wouldn't affect the high revs open throttle situation?
