I've been hearing alot in the Subaru circles recently about Tesco 99 being a bit off when re-maps are done. I had always been told it was ok to use in the Impreza but at the last RR day up here 2 guys had been away getting a full re-map, and the fuel was tested at only 96 RON! The guy at Dastek had even heard of one test being as low as 94 RON

Needless to say mine is on a VPower diet from now on, and after even just the one full tank going through it the car feels better already!

I reckon it'll make some difference - easily 3-4bhp. Strange though, but the MPG also improves aswell as the power. I doubted it at first to be honest - but having tried it - I'm converted. And .... considering the extra mileage out of a tank - it's not a lot more expensive to run either.

Interesting that it can improve MPG, I might give it a try next time I fill up

Think it can help improve the cleanliness of your engine but 4 pot K's don't have knock sensors so canna change anything to take advantage of the higher octane rated fuel iirc

v power is the best out the lot, i had bp ultimate in my car n it was running a lot worse dunno if it was cuz it had been lying in the tank so long or something, felt a bit better with v power but tbh i just put normal shell petrol in now, just cuzza the extra additives supermarket fuel lacks

exactly right, but it's still worth flinging the odd tank in to clean everything out a bit. I still put V Power Diesel in the Defender a few times a year to help clean it up a bit
