A friend of mine is gonna make me a tax disc that I can change the date so I know wen it's gonna run out .... I know they send a reminder in the post but I'm not good at keeping track of post. Or dates

If I'd the choice, I'd have a nice clean windscreen with no tatty bits of paper stuck to it! Over here, there are 3 discs that we're obliged to display on the windscreen

My one is just plain black with the MG octagon in white, I got it off ebay.

I didnt bother to put my new tax disc in the windscreen when my tax ran out back in April.......just to see what if anything happened , well nowts happened or been said , and DVLA have even wheel clamped a car just a few doors up from me for having no tax

So am I right in thinking you can take your tax disc out from the 1st of october even if it doesn't run out until January next year . Or do I have to display it until it runs out then when I apply for my new one then I don't need to display it .
