Seat arrived today. Not bad for the money, £50 but certainly not a racing seat. Weighs just short of 7Kgs so a fair saving over the original seat. Quite comfy considering there is no padding, if a little on the wide side.

I'll post pics when I fit it, it was a bit busy in the garage today so didn't have time. At least the harness is properly located in the slots.

Bear in mind I'm in a rush to get it on track to assess what I need before spending proper money on proper bits.

cheap seat at £50... it'll do for now. I will invest in something better later on.

Some of todays photo's

finally managed to find time to do some work on the track car

Seat fitted - new runners made with brackets..bit of a faff and too most of the day

Next came some tyres we had lying around - Dunlop sports maxx - these are 225/45 R17. They do catch a touch on the plastic inner arch so I will have to remove the inner arches but they give a good wide stance and grip pretty well.

finally a photo of both the ZS's

Was hoping to change the CV joint today as well but didn't have time. The seat took ages to get sorted as I had to make from scratch some frames to fit the original runners and get the seat adjuster working.

that is a weird looking seat, but it'll do the job!

Are you fitting a passenger seat? I always find track days more fun if you can scare... ahem I mean demonstrate your skills to some un-suspecting females lol

On some of the ZS's there have been instances of the original seat mountings in the floor failing.

Dont know if they could do with a reinforcing plate to spread the load, but I'm sure you know a lot more than me, re the safety bits.

perhaps that's why the touring cars mounted the seat as part of the roll cage
