Autocar rules...

Did anyone catch a copy of Autocar this week (12 November 08)

In the ask Goodwin section on page 73, a bloke asks for advice on a decent motor for £3500, and say;s he fancies a ZR or a clio 172.

The editor reckons, and i quote "What about a ZS? no looker but excellent chassis balance and better than a ZR"

I think he was almost there, after all I find them quite tasty looking...discuss?

ZSs are gorgeous! Especially the mk2 which you probably could pick up for £3500 atm if youre lucky. The mk1 is good looking too of course, and sticks out from the crowd in a very good way

Although the design is old, it's still a cracking motor - even in today's mix of german rep boxes... Like you say, stand out from the crowd.

My misses isn't over enamoured but i told her to get stuffed... gimme my zed hehe

I said the same to Chris really lol. She was like "I don't like the look of it, mehmehmehmeh"

I took her out of it, then pulled up at the pub (happened to be a nice sunny day) and she got out panting saying "my god that was awesome"

*smug mode*

I've had a bit of a mare with her...

She put up a battle when i wanted to buy it, she was dead against it. But i won the day (for once) and so ended up with it.

After a couple of weeks with her moaning i just said to her on a dark quiet night, go out, find a decent road and blast it... She was gone for about 30 minutes and came back with a massive grin on her face. She looked at me and said, I f*****g love that car... We are both in a happy place looking for a V6 now (in addition of the 120 i might add...)

I love it when a plan comes to fruition...

ZS MKII there aren't many cars that look as good as it on the road. All the main cars look the same so the ZS is a welcome change.

ZS - MKII
ZR - MKI
