Smile MG Live Silverstone 2019.

Just read this on f/b just in case anyone was thinking of buying tickets.

It's not April first!!! - Just been announced by Keith Williams that MG LIVE has been cancelled !! - The owners are having the track resurfaced , AGAIN, during June !! it was totally resurfaced in 2018, but by all accounts, it was not to the highest standards and needed to be done again for the 2019 British Grand Prix. an alternative venue is being sought

David Sayer is on a distinguished road
I'm not on faceache so thanks for the heads up, gutted as it's a great weekend. Surely they could bolt it onto one of the race events elsewhere.

Bit of a fail by Silverstone TBH, 60 years and they blow out a major event with a few months notice, I hope they find a new site and stay there in future.

MGCC said they are looking for alternatives venue, but most are booked up in advance so have to keep your fingers crossed.

Where is the old airdrome where Top Gear used to roar around??

Needs somewhere large and open like that.

Have to wait and see, feel sorry for the guys that have already booked hotels etc.

Important MGLive! Announcement

We are truly sorry to announce that due to essential track maintenance at Silverstone Circuit, Silverstone have confirmed we are no longer able to hold MGLive! on 15-16 June at the venue.

This is a force majeure scenario totally outside of the Club's control and we are truly distraught at this news that this will be the first time in over 60 years our annual meeting won't be held at Silverstone.

Everyone at the Club is working incredibly hard to find an alternative solution for MGLive! for 2019. We want to hold the event this year and not add to the recent decline in Classic Car events.

If you have already bought a ticket for 2019 - Please bear with us and we will be in contact in due course once we can confirm that alternative arrangements are in place.

We will announce further news in due course once we are able to do so.

Q&A and the full story here: https://www.mgcc.co.uk/mglive-loses-...ne-venue-date/

Thanks for your ongoing support in this matter.

Dunsfold, just outside Guildford. the current Top Gear still use the site.

They have a massive event in August called Wings and Wheels so are used to large events.

I did read that as well.

Shame I used to get to go for free, but not been for a few years!

I think it is actually a result of motogp's issues last year that has caused the surface to be redone again this year.
They actually called off the event becuase it wasn't draining - was a pretty big deal.
