Mark 1 Centre Caps for alloys

Has anyone refurbished theirs? I am going to refurbish (at least try to) my Mark 1 alloys and need to know what can be done with the centre caps, ie does the badge come off easily etc...
If they come out well I may return them to my ZS and refurb the Mark 2 alloys that I currently have on the car.

I am assuming the badges are just stickers that i could remove and replace with new ones?

heyu if your very careful and use a bit of heat you might be able to get them off, they are indeed a sticker, you could just get some off ebay, not the original design but they do holographic green on black, blue on black, red on black, yellow on black, and the same all on whit, and the same all on silver all different sizes, just put them on instead

If you fancy a change and an hour or twos work you could go for something different. I got some Rover wheel centres from Ebay, adapted them to fit and fitted "Hairpin" badges to the middle. Lot better IMO.

A lot of the launch / early brochures showed wheel centres like these. Some with silver centre around MG badge and black nut, others with it reversed - one pic of the ZS shows one on front with other on rear.

Originally made a set with black around the MG badge then made a 2nd set up using TB. Just that little bit different.

IIRC they are a bit of a nightmare to peel off.

I think i remember them having some kind of metal sheet in the "sticker"
Here is what i did with mine.

they're looking good mate...
i got my Mk1 17" alloys refurbished and got the centre caps doen at the same time. The centre caps were the metal ones, and yeah your right, the badges do have a laminate over it. I used a bit of gentle heat, on the underside of the cap, being careful not the burn te badge then lifted the badge off the cap. Took about 20mins each cap and abit of paitence.....
i'll get some pics up.....
