Couple of questions

Hi Guys : a couple of questions : My ZS 180 of 2001 vintage has recently developed small holes in the standard exhaust. I'd like to have your recommendations for a stainless steel replacement please, cat back. One place quoted me £600 which is quite clearly nonsense. So, how about Piper or Janspeed/X-power versions ? Also, the central air vents bleed cold air constantly and it's becoming annoying. It appears that if I move the flap for the top of the dash vent to open, it lessens the bleed, so I guess they are linked. Can anybody point me in the right direction for sealing this up ?

Much obliged, Andy G.

For a choice of exhausts www.motorsportworld.co.uk aren't bad.

For the heater have you checked the operating cables on the drivers side of the heater box for correct adjustment, the can be accessed from the drivers footwell

Powerflow did my S/S from cat back, cost £250 was 4 and 1/2 years ago, but you get a lifetime guarantee with their one.

Might be worth a call.

Regarding the cold air, have you moved the switch with the wee man and blue arrow on it? The one between the two centre vents on the mk1 iirc, that lets a cool airflow into the cabin when open

Yeah, did that ! It still leaks when closed. Not much but enough to chill your hand when you'd rather it didn't .

Sounds like the flap may not be closing properly or could be a foam gasket came adrift. Can you just pull the vents out on the mk1? Should be able to see what is happening that maybe?

Mines a saloon in Trophy Blue (not that that's relevant to the exhaust, but it's by far the best colour ! )

ZRED : Thats a very interesting offer. Considering all my options at the moment : Do I go for a quick fix for now to tide me over (MOT in September) and bide my time, look for pre-used or bite the bullet for a pucka stainless one ?

decisions decisions
