ZS becoming disposable items

I've seen 2 zs today on fb, one is being broken because it has no mot.
The other a 180 was broken because it needed a clutch and operating arm.

Are zs really held in such low esteem now ?

redzs is on a distinguished road
Sadly worth very little now, and most owners not dedicated enough to spend out more on repairs than vehicle is worth.

Well - I saw a 53 plate 120 Mk1 today on the bay of E - all working short MOT but no known faults - £300 !

My instant thought was - could buy and break that for double .... sad, but true.

Thats the problem when a car in a certain condition is worth more in parts than a whole.

Thats why I am considering breaking the ZT, with an unknown engine fault its pretty worthless but being a SE with SE options pack its got some pretty valuable rare items on it.

The ZS page on Facebook makes me laugh sometimes, the post that made me laugh the other day read something like "ZS 180, must go tonight, £750!" What sort of advert is that?!

I must admit, it was a difficult decision for me to make as well prior to the engine swap. I have spent a lot of money doing that, when I could have broken it for spares and made some money!

Trouble is 03 reg is 12 years old now, look at any luxury or sports car of that age and they are pocket money prices.

I can remember members on here a few years back saying they would run the car till the belts went, then strip it and buy another one till the belts went......

Must come a time when there wont be any left, then the price might start going up.

It doesn't matter what they're worth if you're not selling.
