Wow that does sound like a lucky escape.... i thought flipping my first car over its bonnet and landing it in a ditch was scary enough!

Although it does go to show that my instructor was right about one thing... try not to swerve for animals in the road harsh it might sounds it may result in more damage to the car (but not in this case!) but accident is often a lot less severe.

I once had to resist swerving to avoid a badger - tho in fairness the choice was simple... swerve and crash headlong into two lanes of traffic or hit the badger... i was really lucky it went straight under the passenger side wheels with no damage to the car!

I have driven along those roads and they are quite tricky.

Bloody l mate. Very lucky indeed. Like you said just imagine if the worst would of happened. You may never have been found and everyone would of probably just thought you'd driven off never to be seen again.
