Mixed results with the car Zed today

Had a load of jobs to do today,
I stripped all the centre console out and fitted the black oak, only to find it won't line up with the switchgear, so it won't fit my mkI. In the process I broke my cigarette lighter. Uff.

I managed to get the airbags swapped over into my new seats with no problems and fitted up the seats fine. The rear split is fitted fine, I just need to finish off the base.
Couple of little things to sort, the bulbs gone on the clock and most annoyingly of all, I went to go for a drive and realised I'd forgotten to swap over the seatbelt clips to my new seats, so I can't plug in the belts! Felt like such a muppet! I'll get some pics up when I can.

Ha ha ha. By the time I finished it was too dark, I'm too tired and my hands too numb! I'll get some tomorrow though.

Nice mate, pleased for you. I'm gutted it won't fit as I think it looks the business. I might try and do something else to change my console, dunno yet.

Got my seats sorted now though

Just need to finish the rear seat base, I'm thinking of trying to find the grey axis material and retrim the door cards to match, if I can find it.

oh yes, they look nice...I've got those door cards for mine, having the gret flannel centre section retrimmed first though but looking at it the trim strip at the top might look funny with the black oak

ps, my relatives from down by you are popping in today, they liver in ottery st mary...

You have grey axis door cards? Do you have any pics? Do you fancy swapping them, if you're having them retrimmed?

I know Ottery, nice place when it's not under water! Say hello!

Ah right, I'm with you know. I thought you meant your door cards were grey axis. Will you have a spare piece of glove box trim then mate? I might be interested if you do. I'm thinking I'll match the console, box and door trims all in.

the glove box trim will be the same as you've got in the pic - technical grey, looking at the colour of the door card trim iy mat just need a few coats of lacquer to match them up..
