New and Old

As some know i recently acquired another zed quite cheaply, got it home without drama although it did/does have a few faults, ie.
ATC had been pushed into the console (fixed)
Passenger side window not working (fixed - turned out to be a fuse)
Paintwork needs a bit of work ,has quite a lot of micro scratches that i've had a go at with some g3 paint renovator. Maybe need to step up to some scratch remover although it has improved a lot.
Ideally could do with the front bumper and bonnet sorting due to stonechips and a new back bumper which has some damage to the drivers side corner, it's not broken but it has cracked the paint.(why can they not use black primer on black cars? lol)
The wheels could do with a bit of tlc there's no real damage just paint bubbling , was thinking of getting a refurbed set from part-ex alloys, anyone used those people before?
And finally it has a leaking thermostat . i've ordered one through the group buy offer so when that arrives i can sort that.
I put both cars through the MOT 2 weeks back , with the mk1 needing rear callipers and the mk2 needing front discs and pads which i was quite happy with. So both cars now have 12months ticket

The old girl still looks well!

After a day's errm "g3-ing" lol

The infamous Thermostat.

Nice view sir!

So , there is a bit of work to do but mainly cosmetic, i can handle that!

Looking good Loz.
I'm yet to see the new one out and about but I'm sure I'll hear it first just like the MK1!

Be good to see them driving as a pair. Any plans for PoL?

What sort of cost to have them powder coated? Much cheaper than these?

Something i will have a look into .

Think it was about £240 (trying to think back!)
Refurbished and the whole wheel (even the bit the wheel is on) was coated.
Not sure but I reckon the whole wheel will be covered with these.

I sent my spare set off so the px may be more convenient.

Cheers dudes, So, what have i been up to? Replaced the thermostat on the MK2 and then some cosmetics really, got another 12months ticket on , then decided to have a good go at the headlights and bodywork.

A bit of extra elbow grease went into the bonnet with some G3 paint restorer, also wet n dried some touch ups, still a few more to do elsewhere

The lacquer on the headlights was starting look past its best.....

Half an hour or so of rubbing with some 2500 wet n dry and......

Polished those back up by hand, that was hard work . How she's looking now

Also decided to give her a blast up here, which was great

And here we are at the summit, dunno when zak dingle arrived like..............

Still need to tackle the back bumper (paint cracking) and the wheels (minor bubbling) but so far she's coming along nicely!

Still lots to do, we've had really nice weather lately which really helps, so i've been able to get stuck in.
Ta peeps
Loz
