Spring Detail ready for PoL

Gave the car a really good detail yesterday, wanted it to look it's best for PoL and to put a good layer of wax back on it after the winter.

Jobs done yesterday were:
  • Thoroughly washed the exterior and wheels
  • Clay bar
  • Tar removal with Tardis
  • Polish with AG Super Resin Polish
  • Waxed with AG HD Wax
  • Polished all the class with AG Clear Glass Polish
  • Treated all rubbers and black plastic with AG Bumper Care
  • Restored the Headlights with the Meguiars kit and applied protectorant so will hopefully stay clear
  • Steam cleaned the engine bay and sanded and painted the battery tray
  • Knackered rear badge removed while I wait for the new one to arrive in the post
  • Tyres gelled with Meguairs Endurance Gel

Only had my phone camera with me but really pleased with how she is looking now - just need to do the interior one evening this week.

Cup of tea before starting:

Starting the wash washed:

Headlights before restoration:

Headlights after restoration:

Engine being steam cleaned:

Rear shot after being waxed and having the MG badge removed:

A few shots of the final result after a long day's effort:

I have to say I am very impressed with both the results of the Headlight kit and also the AG Polish and Wax. The combination of clay bar, polish and wax means the surface is now like glass - probably the best I have achieved so far since owning the car.

Hoping we get good weather for Pride of Longbridge on Saturday!

Martyn

Repping the XPG crew!
It's such a great colour when clayed, I actually didn't notice all the metallic flecks in the colour until I'd clayed mine!
Praying for no rain for next weekend so my cleaning gains don't go to waste!

It's one of my friend's many gadgets, it's a steam cleaner with a number of different attachments - the one used is great for getting in fiddly places and you can control the flow rate of the steam on the nozzle. It always brings the bottles and stickers up a treat
