Accentuating the V6

I have a jan speed back box which is nice, not too loud, but I would to bring the V6 noise out more.

I know putting a better induction on will do that, but which is better for bringing out that growl, an open cone filter(cheaper ) or a inclosed one, or TBH any other ideas to get that V6 noise "out there"

I've got an open itg foam filter on mine routed into the inner wing with alloy pipe work and my god does it let the v6 growl when you put your toe down and just a purposeful grunt under normal driving. (Matt) WalkerDnB did it to his and also said he lies the transformation it gives.
That, the decat and piper at back certainly change the sound and performance for quite little cost. Only thing I got new was the filter and pipe work so had good deals on the rest

Go any examples of the filter you used on the bay or online anywhere?

I will try to find some relevant links for you and will post up when found.
All I can do at the mo is show how it ended up, there are ways to make it cheaper by routing the iacv pipe to the inner wing rather than the pipe it connects to on mine but have heard differing reports as to how good that is.
Anyway, here's my finished setup.

Haha, it wasn't difficult once I found the bits I needed in all honesty. Once the parts were all here it took about half hour to get it all connected to know where all needed to sit and then another 20 mins to fit back together under the car on my back. Just fine adjustments under the car so it didnt rub anywhere it shouldn't.
Think iirc it cost around £140-160 as a total but there are cheaper ways to get round some parts I think now. But give or take a few £'s that's the area you would be looking to pay for a like for like or similar setup.

Did enjoy getting it all together though, was very pleasing web all came together and the first sound check happened
