Thanks for all the replies. My sister is 31. Ideally I'm after something that looks quite nice, but doesn't have to be quick.

TFs and Fs aren't the most reliable cars in the world so with 2500 I wouldn't get one. I had a TF btw!! Get a low milage zr mk1

As above a ZR 105 or 120 perhaps? My daughter is looking at ZR's and has her eye on an 03 plate with 30k on it for under £3k and that's a dealer.

Ended up going with a Mini Cooper as that's what she'd always wanted. It's a graphite SE with the chili pack so looks pretty decent inside and out. Could probably have got an SV at the price Cheers for all the suggestions

It's no a bad wee car. Has the leather and gadgets etc to keep her happy, and the engine is sporty enough. Wouldn't call it fast, but it's 120bhp so isn't too sloooow. Black roof on hers.

Good cars, hold their value very well too. From memory I think they get to 60 in about 9 secs (?) which is not bad at all - enough to overtake confidently when needs be. About the same performance as my last car, and I had buckets of fun in that.
