We've got two diesel MG's, and one petrol 25 in our family... No major problems from either of the diesels (one ZT, the other ZS), wish I could say the same for the 25 though!
My mums car hasn't even done 26k miles and it's had the head gasket done.. Never overheated, always service according to service schedule (on times, not mileage as it's done hardly any!).. Driven very conservatively by my 47 year old mother, so not ragged!
I personally would never buy a K-series MG/Rover

What years the 25? the later engines seam to be less prone. My mrs's 54 plate 1.4 ZR has done 130k on the factory gasket

The 1.4 8 valve 114 I inherited from my mum failed in spectacular style, it was using 4 pints of water in 2 miles!

al depends they are all potentially prone, but keeping an eye on levels condition of radiator ect n theyre usually fine,

Yes, correct or that would be a ZS160, just like the ZR!

It's a 51 plate, so reasonably old...
SheppyDuo's 1.6 ZS also had HGF, so it's not just the older cars...

Which they should have done instead of the 1.8 IMO!
Leaving room to put a better, more efficient v6 into the 180, but with more power!

The J35 displaced 3,471 cc is an SOHC VTEC design. Output was 210 bhp or 240 bhp
The J35A5 used in the 2004 - 2006 Acura MDX produces 265 hp
The new J35 used in the Acura RL produces 290 bhp

very nice, but could MG-Rover have actually bought it in?? Pay Honda for the engine, design it into existing zs's shell/wiring etc. When they could barely manage a facelift before going tits up??
