indeed, I'm getting simmilar issues, the seller has suggested its the app, and to run his prog on a laptop. I'll give him the banafit for the moment, as i dont have a PC laptop. will try it on my mums this evening..... if it fails I'll get him to swap it out. I only get 4 errors, but it is hit and miss....

the proper unit is best part of ?100 so a ?15 clone is well worth the trouble. when it works its mint!

Yeah I bought a USB one in preparation for the CarPC and it's a clone but was cheap.

Does drop off occasionally but find that once it links (sometimes 2-3 attempts) it is flawless.

I got one of the bluetooth jobbies for mine, works a treat on the laptop. Not got an android phone so cant try it with Torque - might be worth giving yours a go via laptop, though?

Anybody had one of these permanently attached to the car? Ive heard rumours of them going AWOL and taking the ECU with them...?

My dell streak and Bluetooth thingy maybe up for sale as my new car is too old to use it on, that's if the deal goes thru

Works a treat, been using it awhile now. Works well with the cheap bluetooth OBDII reader, but the OBDII reader is a bit iffy in the Misses' KA

you get live data from the obd2 port from the cars ecu
the app just reads this data and shows it at gauages and stuff
the bluetooth obd2 device is just a way to get the data from your cars ecu to the phone

code readers read this data and show you it numbers live when you have one connected but this is much better as you get dials and displays
