exhaust section needed urgent

Hi everyone, is anyone in lancashire selling an centre section for a zs180. Mine fell off and I bought a new section but the flanges havent been machined flat so it blows between both joints. I could do with finding one local that I could collect this evening or tomorrow as I need the car for work and to order another will take a couple of days.
Thanks very much martyn

Don't take this the wrong way, but did you use new gaskets and some paste.

Yes I used new gaskets. They came with the exhaust. I didnt use paste. When I put a straight edge across the flange there is about a 3mm gap at the bottom. Its like its not been machined correctly. Both ends are similar.

Yeah, 3mm is a bit excessive, if you cant get another section, the only thing I can suggest is doubling up on the gaskets as a temporary fix.

Sorry that should have said 2mm but even 2mm is excessive. If I cant find another section I mighr try reassembling with lots of exhaust paste on both sides of the gasket

I know it's not totally local but I have a midsection (once I take the cat off it.
I don't need it now I have a stainless midsection on.
So if your stuck its something.

Not sure about postage though lol.
They're pretty long.

Thanks skillen. I need to get it rebuilt by tomorrow. I will try using paste. If it still blowing I will let you know and we can arrange something

Hi, just an update. I managed to get the exhaust together without it blowing. It took a lot of exhaust paste. Now looking to get a cat back system since the mid section I have is no good and my back box is starting to rot around the flange so only matter of time (plus previous owner fitted the back box from a hatch). Any recommendations welcome. I would like a bit of extra noise but nothing silly.
Thanks martyn
