MG100 at Beaulieu

Myself and Peter attended the MG100 event at Beaulieu in Hampshire yesterday in his yellow derv which is still going very well! Well attended by several clubs, some from Cornwall and Hastings plus non affiliated owners. Good turnout overall. However I counted some eight ZSs which sums up how these cars are disappearing from our roads. Three ZRs were found. The dominant cars were MGBs over Fs and TFs. No Maetros or Montegos and one Metro I believe. Good to see a spread but sad to see little ZSs. Scott of DMGRS had his two 180s there plus other zeds and a trade stand as they were sponsoring the event. One thing I will be doing when my zed is roadworthy is attend more shows, display the club banner and get interest in the forums, had enough of Facebook orientated groups that do little or nothing for fostering a community or offering a database of knowledge.

Good to hear Mick.

Our era cars, ZR, ZS, ZT apart from TFs, really are becoming a rare sight now. And sure to continue that way. I don't see any on the road, and not many come up for sale any more so unless the FB groups are huge I can only suspect they are getting broken or they are sitting in a barn somewhere to be sold for a good profit in years to come.

I wasn't even aware that it was going on - which shows how little things are communicated on the FB groups that I'm on; one supposedly catering for MGR in the Sw of England...

But there are not many cars on the road now - not economical to keep there if theyget expensive repairs, and with so many scrapped/broken already now harder to get good 2nd hand parts of the bits that are NLA.

Been trying to get mine tested for ages now, to see what the "get on the road price" is going to be, but for reasons out of my control - the car still 100's of miles away - it's still not happened so far this year.

WonderSheep will become famous soon enough
I was Oulton Park earlier in the summer to see the MG trophy racing. I saw one other spectator owned ZS. That used to be a race series that brought a lot of owners together.

The town I live in runs a little local show it’s based near junction 18 on the m6. Despite only attracting a couple of 100 cars, to my surprise there 3 MG ZSs including mine. The other two were MK2s.

I also took it down to Gaydon at the end of August for ShedFest (AutoAlex YouTuber gathering). There was one other ZS there owned by a young chap. I heard a few positive comments about my car.

I also get a lot of “haven’t seen one of these in ages” type comments in general.

Good to see you, Mick.

It was a good turnout, amazed at all the MGB/C, MGF/TF.

This was the first one I have attended for 4 years or so, shame because it used to be a good laugh.

Shame Photobucket will not let us post the photos anymore. I'm not clever enough to post them from my mobile, sad but true!!

I'll post them up on our f/b page, be easier.

We must do it more often before it is too late.

MotorRacingBruce1980 is on a distinguished road
I hope one day I can get to a show like this with an MG ZS.

I know they are getting difficult to find a decent one.

As the years roll on our cars are getting less and less. Hardly see a ZS on the road, unless it’s the Chinese version! I’ll be attending more shows when I finish mine, but then I’ve been saying that for years
