Celestial Blue ZS180 saloon
Hey guys thought I would post a pic of the MG. Needs a bottom end/engine and after advertising on eBay for breaking the kind MG enthusiasts have convinced me not to break this car and to restore it

I love that colour!
Mike, be careful with a used motor, the early ones had coil packs and leads, the later ones pencil type coil packs.
The ZT and freelander had different sumps.
The ZS had a change of dipstick and the way it fixed in the sump at some point.
Ideally you want to have the replacement engine leak down tested first, it to have no or little gunk in the inlet and when you drop the sump for it to look like its been serviced regular.
Full service history with a motor is a nice touch, but very rare.
If your not in a rush, I have 3 motors that I need to do a leak down test on, two of the 3 have good history (1 was serviced every year/10k with evidence, I nearly sold this to scott briddlecombe with the bio green zs, glad he backed out!!), I will be selecting the best one as a base for a race car, but the other if good will moved on.
Good Luck with the car.

Hi Stephen. Thanks for all your words of wisdom greatly appreciated and glad to see so many enthusiasts inhere who I can turn to for advice or even moral support. Hi Mark, thanks for the offer of the engine I have another few offers and also being looking at a complete donor car with low mileage. I was even considering a full rebuild of my current engine but that all depends on what I find when I get it stripped down to be honest
