Thanks for the feedback guys, that's fantastic! Still a little worried about lack of 6th gear, as my ZR sits at high revs on the motorway.

Considering the V6, tax is a bit sharp though!

Ive got a zs 110 and had a zr at the sime time for a while, zs was definatly the better out the two of them. Did like driving the zr but the zs felt a lot more planted.

You can say that again.
Had to tax mine last month, £154 for six months!

readie86, i found it most comfortable in the 200 to lower the steering wheel as far down as possible. Could really chuck it around.

When I got my first ZS I was moving from a zr 120, the zs is more planted and refined, has a better interior and I can drive hundreds of miles and feel great after getting out the car. Tax can b a bit high but buy a Pre march 06 ZS to ensure you don't get fisted on road tax even more as those registered after that date are£405 odd per year versus £280 for the earlier ones.

Try having two and a at to tax

It sits at roughly 3k revs at 70mph but you won't notice that in the v6 as its so smooth and hardly makes a noise at those revs. Especially in a mk1 with more sound proofing.
And 80mph is about 3.5k as its geared better in my opinion.
I sound deadened panels in my mk2 and its really nice on an mway cruise. And the torque at 3k in 5th is more than adequate for a good overtake.

That said I'd love a 6th, I think the 180 would take it well and would make it. That little bit more fuel efficient!

Agree with all the above, I had a heavily modified ZR105 mk2 and sold it too buy a Mk1 ZS180 Saloon had that for a year and sold it too by a vectra. But 5 years on I bought another ZS180 Mk1, they are awesome cars for the money and go like stink. Comfort wise I would say it's on par with the vectra but the Mg easily out handles it and I've heavily modified the vectra.

Sonic_160zr will become famous soon enough
The tax is only about £15/20 a year more in the 180 compared to the 160. Ive got both and the 180 wins hands down everytime, cant wait to get it back from the garage as ive not driven it in nearly 2 months now.

I still love having a blast around in the 160 though, just not anyway near as refined or as comfortable as the 180. and not as nice on long journeys.

Cheers,
Matt
