Mgb
Always quite liked the old MGBs. Maybe one day.
Anyway, I came across this one and it looks pretty different to the usual ones. Anyone know more about it than me? Is it simply a custom job, or a specific model?

It's simply a modded B roadster, matey. Be ideal for a bit of competition and track use with the mods its had. The Sebring front splitter looks quite good but I'd have to go the whole hog and fit the whole kit if it were down to me!
I own a 1973 BGT that my Dad bought brand new. It's a car I love and the reason I got into motors and eventually became a journo.

Cheers Ads, I think I'm beginning to love it
Presumably, they are rare then if it's a modded model?
Love your BGT btw.
Incidentally, what kind of money would that fully modded roadster go for?

Not necessarily. The great thing about the B is that they are incredibly well supported in terms of spares and bits to improve them. If only the ZS had half that support!
It's clearly had a bit of money spent on it, but something like that is certainly buildable (is that even a word?) by anyone, really.
Thanks, it's a car I've loved my whole life. She's tucked up in the garage until the sunshine comes back!

That does look like a well-modded 'B. As much as I like the Sebring MGCs, the full kit doesn't really suit the roadster so much (also - it's not a splitter, just a plain old valance).
The thing with buying a B is that it's always cheaper to buy one that's already been modified, the problem with that of course is that you don't know exactly how well the work's been done - main reason that people choose to do their own mods.
Is GDF 440L a genuine 'C or a kitted 'B?

That's a nice looking B, had some work done on the rear too by the looks of things.
Bought one of those Sebring kits to fit to our B originally, the fitment was awful, front wheel arches looked ridiculous from the side profile, the front wings were too short and too long at the same time. The time and money it would've cost to fit was just too prohibitive so we ditched the idea and the kit is just sitting upstairs in the unit.

On a L plate I would think it's a B.

Certainly had some money spent on it, had a few std MGB GT's.
They do rust though.
Wonder if they got a Heritage body shell and did the work to that, or just played around with a roadster??

If its 1990cc, could be its got the O series conversion. Fits like a glove. Id have one as a summer car, when I move to Monaco!! But for now, I'll keep the ZED.

Or it could be someone mis-reading 1950 when entering data? 1950 is a very common overbore size for the B series, 1990 not so much.
