Hey .... Each to their own. Personally, I think the new Astra is really nice. It has a very upmarket feel to it, the same as an Insignia and the 1.6T engine gives decent performance and economy.

With 1 kid and a dog, there's no need for a Vectra size car unless you all go camping every weekend ... trust me. I did the "I need an estate" ....and the "I need an MPV" thing and look at me now. My boys are bigger - my dog is bigger - and I'm in a ZS hatch with room to spare.

If you're buying a brand new car - I urge you to at least have a look. Also the Mazda 3 is good value and has that semi-estate look.

Thanks mate, I said 'no' to all the part-ex questions today, they'll send the Zed to an auction and I can't bear the thought of them auctioning it off.

The new Astra is nice, I agree

Sorry to see you're selling but i know what you mean. Our baby's due in approx 3 weeks and we've got 2 dogs and if we decide to go on a U.K break then it'll be impossible in either ZS and ours are saloons!

Sorry to read you are selling up... i really like the MK1.5 and i wanted an anthracite one, but had to plump for xpg as diesels were rare as hens teeth when i was looking - for less than 1 year old low mileage one....

tho now I dont think i would swap it for any other colour. it really gew on me

You know what .... I think that they are quite funky !

I had a look at one as the father in law wanted a C4 Picasso and there was one in the showroom.

Cheap as chips to run too.

It is a bit different, ain't it? I'm taking Sarah to see it tomorrow and then we'll know where we stand.

Hopefully the Zed will find a nwe owner fairly quickly.

When my three girls were growing up we had an Omega Tourer V6 then had three Xsara Picasso HDi's, that was their favourite due to the three good sized rear seats, trays, no transmission tunnel and large boot. The newer ones look very good too. Fantastic mpg and very reliable. I wouldn't knock them.
