advise with lifters

i have just bought another zs120+ on an 02 plate with what i thought was a noisey camshaft i took the rocker cover off and started it up and couldnt see anything wrong (still noisey) so now ive taken the cams out they look fine oh and it also has a slight miss fire the engine has had a 4 layer headgasket and it doesent overheat when driving i have now taken the head off and done the leak test on all the valves they seem fine the only thing that seams to be strange is 13 valve buckets are solid when i took them out and 3 of them i could squeeze in with my fingers i checked them all at the same time. can anyone help thanks

What was the oil like, and has it had a oil filter change???

Soak em in diesel overnight?
You'd have to have 16 little boxes to keep them in order though.

Seen somewhere recently a "how to" on stripping them down, guess its on either here, .org or XPF that I've seen it.

yeah its had oil and filter change with castrol magnitec .....im gonna pick up a head with cams tomorrow and rebuild it so with any luck should be done by sunday
