Thanks guys...
My dad's bad news is that his cancer is back - his stem cell transplant gave him 12 months remission only - with a "good" form of myeloma it should give remission of 3-5 years; needless to say his is not a "good" kind
He's been to see his specialist and was told if he doesn't start the new treatment he'll be dead by Christmas... and even with the treatment, they only expect they can delay things for 3 years tops.... given how badly he was affected last time, I don't think 3 years is that likely, but trying not to get to negative about things just yet.
In less crappy news, the ZS is not a complete disaster zone... all the bits are in it, and the manifold was not as bad as I'd been led to believe (which makes me really angry there was a refusal to fit it previously)
The new disks are totally rusted, but I think a skim should be enough to bring them back to life as it looked fairly surface layers only.
With a jump pack we got some power to it and it turned over a few times (but didn't even attempt to catch - only tried it for about 8s total as wanted to see if engine was seized only) so fuel might be bad, or just a huge amount of air in the system that needs to be bled out.
There are a number of scratches to the bumper - something has been driven into it, and the paintwork is as much of a mess as you'd expect for not being washed for 2 years...
But the good news is Toby (the guy that has been helping me out) is moving it round the corner to his folks, so that should free up the brakes at least and get it rolling, then he's going to get it sent down to Drew.... if all goes to plan, next week.....
Then I let some-one who really knows what they are doing look at it and see what is wrong with it lol
Have to say, having sat in the car and seen it again I got the love back for it... felt sorry for it sat there like that all lonely; so this at least has given me the kick to get the rest sorted once the MOT is done.... just need to work out where and when + a little bit of how too!
