I also think that the current owners of mg have a lot to answer to I,ll keep this short and sweet .They were in talks with mgr to save the company, bail out if you want to call it that and in the last minute pulled out of the deal that possibly could have saved mgr . The Chinese knew exactly what they were doing they wanted the lot and shafted mgr good and proper.

IIRC the Chinese pulled out as the Labour goverment at the time refused to be involved.

the goverment refused to bail out MGR after they went to the wall after the chinese played MGR along until this point.

I reckon the Chinese knew it was on the verge of collapse, so hung back and bought the bits they wanted cheaply from the administrators.

spot on, I cant remember the exact detail but MGR were getting desperate and the chinese kept delaying it was obvious too as at the dealers months before hand were were called in for team meeting about the progress etc and we knew without it mgr would seize we just diddnt know when
