How does that work if the police run a check on your car, and those number plate recognition cameras that check as you drive past???

I've done all of those, as mine is modified more than most I don't have many options. Best I have managed so far was ?394, before it was ?327. Still looking and have a few to call today.

Peter Best Insurance is your best bet. I promise you will get a good price from them.

Well I had to bite the bullet and get the zed insured today. Went with Adrian Flux and got fully comp with like for like cover on all of my mods. Was higher than I hoped for but all my quotes have gone up. Biggest decider was the deposit and monthly repayments, some wanted a huge first payment. So ?450 gets me full cover with unlimited mileage and a host of features. Was hoping for a better price but all things considered I cannot complain as my Discovery has the full no claims bonus and the ZS has 6 years. Just got to get tax and that's me nearly on the road and ready for the southern meet

I think you just need to try all sorts of companies. It just seems so random. I'm guessing it's all just statistics of the cars they've insured previously. Even then it's no sense. For example I've just insured fully comp a civic type r (2007) for only ?200 more than my parents on tpft on a ZS 180 and they're both over 60 and I'm 31 ffs!

I have no doubt that there is a register somewhere of what cars are getting written off.

Bottom line - ZS's are written off nearly every time they get bumped by all accounts, meaning that they are bound to be more costly to insure as all they are doing is paying out all the time. Bit confusing about the TPFT thing, but after all it's business - and insuring ZSs just ain't good business.

Must admit to being a bit anxious about the ST - but it's not due until March.
