Hope you remember how it all goes back together otherwise you will be left with a couple of washers and bolts after its all back together! not that thats ever happened to me

Todays efforts...
Time for the big guns:

Double check!
It's now or never! Has it moved?
Err...my engine appears to be missing
Needless to say I'm pleased!!! The engine is out and tomorrow night its old gearbox off + if possible new one and new clutch on. Then its cambelt *gulps*
I'll take my SLR to the yard tomorrow and take lots of BIG photos if anyone is interested.

Now thats what I call weight saving!!! Looking very intresting Phate wish I had a project like this just without the cost lol, Would love to take my engine apart and polish the head and bits and peices but very much doubt Id get it back together, Fair play to you and your dad

Dad and I were talking and we were both convinced to do the cambelts it must be easier to remove the engine than do it with the engine in.
It's taking 4.5hrs to get the engine out and we don't know what we are doing. A Rover MG specialist could do it much quicker.

should do mate, i think there a mg rover vids somewhere that were used for training technicians on how to change the cambelts on the kv6 an as you would expect it's just the engine on a stand. you should have a search for em, may help you with the job in hand
