Think it may look better in the metal because the mk2 grill sticks out less than the mk1. If it was mine i would consider cutting the middle bars out so it looks like a flatter mk1 grill. Looks good as it is though.

Sorry Steve, I didn't mean to sound too negative, it's your car so well done for making it as you want it.

Okay for a complete disasemble of the mk2

The front bumper is good.
The headlights are good.
The wing vents are good.
I quite like the rear bumper but it results in the boot (see below).
The climate control is better than the mk1 aircon.
The Mk2 straights are nice.

however.

I think the wheel arch extensions are tacky.
I think the boot is too plain.
I think the grill has too much grill and not enough hole.
I think the mk1 mesh is much more up market.
I think the dash looks like too many other cars from other marques.
And finally I have an early MK1 so PROJECT DRIVE!

i have a mk 1 and was considering getting a mk 2 but the only reason was to get the wing vents and the new shape headlights. i prefer the rear of the mk 1 for the same reason as above - the boot

edited to add:
the grill doesnt really matter to me if it is mk 1 or 2. there was one for sale on ebay (think it was the demonator or something equally as crap), which allowed for the front to be debadged as there was no space for one. i was seriously tempted to do this, what do peeps think??
