Surprised you have to ask to be honest. You're a journo and been on here for ages. It's a no brainer really.

I used to run mine everyday on the 70 mile a day commute, still do occasionally. I found the mpg to be quite reasonable, the only issue is the addictive noise and fun you can have which will see the gauge drop! that is the only downside!

Yer if you can't resist letting it roar they are meant to be not too bad on fuel, I never could though so never really saw over 20mpg but others do. Depends how you drive it.

I average 30mpg and I like the spirited drive.
My ZR105 averages 36mpg and to me that's not a huge difference.
In the year I've had the car I've spent £3k in fuel but I've done over 14k in it.
Go for it lol.

Yip defo do it, as long as it's in good condition. Running cost as mentioned. I never had mine on the road but the noise from it was pretty good.... And even when giving it some it's still good on the fuel compared to others. (Giving the situation haha)

Its the best fun you can have with ya trousers on...The noise is so addictive, the handling is still pin-point, its economical when you want it, and Im never getting rid

One other thing you need to check for is the dreaded rust, it pains me to bring it up, but a few areas are vulnerable, first is the front jacking points, and second is the forward end of the front chassis legs, any bubbling between the spot welded flange and the inner wing needs to be examined closely, this applies to both mk1 & 2 cars.

They are however a great drivers car.
