Are ZS180 Mk1 & Mk2 steering racks the same?

Are ZS180 Mk1 & Mk2 steering racks the same?

I read on another forum here (post #29), that the mk2 rack was a quicker ratio.

I've never heard this before though.
Granted it was on a Honda forum not MG, so not sure how reliable the info is, but I thought worth confirming. Personally I'd be very surprised if it was true.

Any thoughts?
Perhaps from someone that went from a Mk1 to a Mk2 180.
Was the steering more responsive?

Dave

Part number comparison suggests they are the same, so claiming the mk2 as having a quick rack is an urban myth imo.

The ZS rack is a popular upgrade for the Honda kids.

So I guess the guy on the Honda forum meant "quick" relative to the standard Honda MB6 rack?

Just a bit strange why he specifically mentioned the mk2 ZS though.

He probably read it on the internet tbh, the part number for the 180 rack is the same for all of them, so no change between mk1 and 2, do the Honda boys swap the upper wishbones from left to right and vice versa like Rover did for the MG.
