Battery change / upgrade ??

Can anybody recommend an upgraded battery to fit the 120 zs? I get the lights dimming problem with my sub and some people on here have said about getting an upgraded battery?

the exide batteries are quite good, give up to 30% more power. my local motor world sells them, my local halfords doesnt.

Whatever you get, make sure it will fit the tray!!! My first attempt didn't!

get a heavy duty diesel battery
will be about £50-£80 from motor factors! long as it fits in the tray you will be ok
Lights dimming - upgrade your engine bay earth wires!
Alt to battery
Engine to chassis
Battery to Chassis

Made a massive difference on mine!
i used 4awg throughout

people seem to be disagreeing with me but if I were you I'd call up a car audio specialist to get their advise before you waste money...

the problem you are most likely experiencing is the fact the alternator not being able to charge up the battery as fast as power is being drawn from it. It could well be there is an issue with your battery or the cabling in the engine bay, so it's well worth replacing them as Shafz said. What wattage in RMS is your amplifier(s) in total? If it's below 1000WRMS, it could be a dodgy battery, but it if it's 1000WRMS or over, upgrading your battery, or adding another battery isn't actually going to help.

sounds like a poor ground connection. where have you grounded it?

the rear seat bolts, brackets in the boot.... it has all been rubbed down to clean metal.. any other suggestions?

I would double check the connection so that the ring connector is perfectly flat on the metal of the car... i had this problem in my clio before, i tightened up the bolts and it was fine.. i woudl get a battery terminal cleaner they're only cheap, clean up the terminals and put the wax over them to stop them going skanky, and tighten up the bolts. If not, try a ground that is factory standard and see if it does the same thing.

also cut the ground wire as short as possible.
