Diesel fuel tank

As the title says really, another victim of PROJECT DRIVE.
My car is leaking, Rimmer bros NLA.
If I can't get a cheap one I'll have to get rid of the car, the headgasket is weak and has 208k on the clock.

shame, nothing else fits??

just had a look at Honda Civics, they did do a derv but can't see what the tank is like. Might be worth calling into a main dealer and having a chat.

Rimmers are listing tanks for the 400, would that work?

I put a 180 petrol one on mine as my pre project drive one failed - it is a weak area it appears on these.

Problem with using the petrol one is that that it doesn't have the small internal swirlpot, so fuel levels have to be kept up or you'll suffer from poor starting issues when 1/4 of a tank

http://forums.mg-rover.org/mg-zs-rov...l-tank-512139/

here's a good thread from .org where they go through the "issues" of using the 400 tank on the diesel - essentially the same as using the 180 petrol on the diesel.

I kinda fixed it I hope.
I put it on axel stands under the trailing arm bushing, got the tank off and broke both hanging bolts in the process. I zip wheeled the surface rust that was around the filler neck area, as I was tilting the tank in different directions, the area under the filler neck where the rust was started leaking. I patched it with LEAK FIX from Halfords, let it set for a few days, brushed on some Zinc on the leak fix and the full seam of the tank. Rimmers for new bolts, clamps and new feed pipe, tank back on, job done. MG is back.
