If it's just a dry bearing on the timing belt top pulley, what I normally do is this:
Due to being SO scared that one day my engine will go bang, I usually dip my oil every week (something I bet you haven't done since I serviced it) but when you pull the dipstick out, there is usually a couple of drops of oil that will fall off, well, as long as you are careful, you can hold it over the little gap between the belt cover and the head and let the drips fall in the gap. Should stop immediately, if it's that.
If not, and it keeps whistling, look for yellow feathers !!!!!
