if it is leaking fuel (petrol?) and power steering fluid in the engine bay as well as the back brakes being in bad order, then it sounds like they were right to fail it?

Was it bought with little or no MOT then? Hope the price reflected this.

Unfortunatly the days of letting things go through on mots is over, can risk losing your mot station and licence,, id be looking towards the seller tbh

I've seen some garages fail a car for nothing at all and make up reasons just to fail it (one garage local to me failed my Landrover as it was "pissing coolant all over the place and had to abandon the mot" drove it round the corner to another mot station who passed it first time, there was infact no leak from the coolant at all and the first garage just wanted free money for "repairs".

it was bought with no tax/mot,only had an advisory for the back breaks last year,so took a gamble, need a car as my zr got written off, last owners were fine,im not blaming them, they were great, the garage were useless,it took three of them nearly 3 hours to do a timing belt on a megane, all there good at is changing tyres lol,was dissapointed with the result, but theres stuff im going to go fix right now at my work, will have a good look and let you guys no later

Not good Andy but not too bad a fail list, looks to be all easy enough fixes I think. Fuel leak could be pretty easy, prob a joint or that daft wee seal on fuel rail. Best of luck getting it on the road bud!!
