I'm still not sure if they're the same or not, Rimmer Bros usually show the LR part number if the item is the same as the MG part, but in the case of the manifold they don't.

Would seem daft to manufacture the same engine and an identical to look at manifold but make them different. I would imagine they used the same mould.

Better suspension probably gives the impression of better reliability, softer suspension = less vibration and bumps on the engine.
